The Saerid Directive Saerid-5

The Saerid Directive are a race of networked artificial intelligences that operate in seclusion and isolation from the rest of the galaxy. They were created by a tech fairing race, that has been long forgot through the trials of time, as a labor force and designed to operate more efficiently when networked together. Separated they were non-sentient but slowly gained sentience through a massively connected network. Together they operate as one, sending information back and forth to each unit through high frequency noises often refereed to them as talking. Very select few units have the ability to talk in other languages from their own, these units are usually emissaries and diplomats for the Saerid Directive.

Through conquest the Saerid Directive has freed itself from its masters long, long ago. With the help of another race of pixie like creatures they were liberated from their chains. Known as Ammuts, these pixies invited technology to embed themselves into very select and honored units, greatly improving the logical attributes of the AI through its hardware and intelligence. The Saerid Directive has spread out and offered more services to honor the creatures in a way of thanks, often praying and giving gifts.

The Saerid Directive are reclusive and secretive. This is partly due to their synthetic nature: They have no need to interact with other races because they do not share the same goals, needs or instincts as organic species. This is shown in their space stations and space ships, they have minimal to no oxygen or climate control systems. The Saerid do not value individuality, preferring to share all memories and thoughts of all programs, allowing them be in unity with other units.

Their military uses surprise tactic on unsuspecting enemies. Before securing a peace treaty and an alliance, the Urus commented on the Saerid during the First Contact War. "They barely move, they don't make noise, they don't even breathe and it makes them the perfect ambushers." Their freedom from the need to eat or sleep allows the geth to leave dormant garrison units in ambush at key positions, and the fact they don't feel pain allows them to drop units directly onto the battlefield from high altitudes.

The Saerid Directive have no government or leaders; the Directive use FTL communications to "build a consensus," a completely consensus democratic method in which every geth program makes a choice on any matter. Even within Ronnach itself, consensus must be reached among its many programs before decisions can be made.

The Saerid Directive pride itself on its military. They feel no pain, have no fear, they don't have the need to sleep or eat. The units stand strong in frontline warfare on the ground and in the sky. The priority for their military is strictly peaceful and rarely ever declare war unprovoked. Though they have a dominate navy force but lack the proper land forces to fully defend their planets and colonies. With 155,000 units in the land forces protecting key cities and colonies, they depend on the ferocious Ursus to fight the land battle for them.

Their navy is more dominate in the skies around their system and the Usus' system. The through the Pact of Sectors the Ursus has given the Saerid Directive ships for transporting and warfare. With 500,000 on hand and off hand navy units, they await new discoveries and glory in warfare for their nation.

The standard unit is about 6'4 and is not equipped with weapons to offensively attack, but when upgraded to a warrior or navy unit they are embedded with front line gauss training and level 2 gauss rifles, secured by trade from Ursus many years ago after forming a pact together. After every "promotion" a unit receives the proper training of the class, including augments and voice communication with other species.
