- Xenosys - Overview

Xenosians thrive on speed and style. Their style of government is freeform, choosing people at random to handle issues and permitting challenges to this authority through contests. They believe all disputes to be solved by displays of skill and speed, and that the most intelligent people practice hard to improve so as to better win arguments. Many a war has been stopped by a grand race, as victory in the skies means victory on the surface. Through this, Xenosys keeps fairly unified and most of their people sense the direction the empire is heading. Few try to defy it or change its direction, as they are nearly instantly replaced by another randomly-selected person anyway.

- Xenosys - Ships

As a direct result of their preference to speed and style, Xenosys's ships and, in fact, much of their technology is focused on going as fast as physically possible. They have shields, but they are primarily focused at the front to keep the ships from being torn apart from the sheer speeds and to reduce air resistance. They have weapons, but they are designed to be aerodynamic in the atmosphere and low in mass to lower inertia in space flight. The weapons do damage, but are primarily designed to take out engines and cripple ship systems. However, they are notoriously difficult to evade due to the high speed and accuracy demanded of their missiles and lasers.

- Xenosys - Technology

Xenosians lack in food production what they make up for in craft production and material manipulation. If you need a fast craft built, Xenosys can do it quickly and with the highest quality. If you need a rare mineral or an element that does not occur naturally, they are usually able to locate or synthesize it. However, they lack adequate food to sustain a growing population, and thus there are imposed limits on breeding. There is very little suitable land on the surface of their home planet (88% water with rich submerged mineral deposits), forcing them to use more expensive and inefficient means to get food for their people.

- Xenosys - Race

"Xeons" to Xenosians and "Xenosians" to outsiders, the typical Xenosian is short, but light and aerodynamically built. Their predators were primarily quick creatures with deadly claws and teeth. At first they developed armor, but natural selection ensured that only the fastest really survived. So they lost their biological armor and gained long, quick strides, aerodynamic bodies, and light compositions. They are bipedal when walking and running but sprint in quadrupedal fashion, using their arms and legs in tandem for extra maneuverability.

- Xenosys - Homeplanet

Their home planet, Presi, carried around 620 million Xenosians before the Revelation. This was when it was realized that the amount of food they were producing would not support the population of the planet. It was a fact realized far too late. A Great Famine caused by the plummeting food supplies and global pest increases brought widespread starvation to the planet. Millions died, and millions more realized that it was necessary to limit the world's population in order to prevent future events from going the same way. The permitted birth rate was trimmed to extremely low levels until the population (with the aid of starvation and more than a few "accidents") reached 100 million. Whenever a Xenosian dies, a new "slot" is opened for another birth. When no more slots are available, procreation temporarily becomes illegal. Presi is located within Sector 23 but no special cloaking devices are used to mask the location of the planet.

- Xenosys - Military

The bulk of Xenosys's military force is composed of robotic soldiers. They can fire a weapon fairly accurately but are poorly armored and not very bright. Though Xenosys is looking for ways to improve them, they put more faith in the elite few Xenosians that are chosen to lead their forces and turn the tides of battle. Each one is permitted to choose their own armor, their own weaponry, their own vehicles, and anything else that may potentially boost their performance in battle. Rigorous training permits Elites to aim accurately, carry heavy weapons, pilot absurdly quick vehicles, or do whatever their innate specialty appears to be.

I was seriously thinking of using that as their anthem. Sonic would be like their deity.
