From the Amundi Federation's homeworld, weak signals from probes and satellites attempt to make contact with the universe, much like Earth's SETI.

Only someone near to their position in Sector 10 would be able to pick it up, like those near the nearby trading post.

A large energy reading overloads the probes circling the planet and the large satellites on it. The ZRS Batruka hyperdrives in.

Captain Zygboyum sits alone at the Officer's mess, dressed in her casual uniform. She takes a spoonful of soup and sips on it. Suddenly, a man bursts through the doors. She sets the spoon down calmly and looks up at him,"Yes, Ensign?" The man gasps slightly, taking in a deep breathe,"Ma'am, we've got a Class 0." The Captain's eyebrows raise, and she stands up from her chair.

The Captain arrives only a few minutes later in her dress uniform to the bridge. The bridge is alight with action as crewmen walk around frantically and the din of voices fills the room. The Captain strides to her 2nd in command,"What've we got?" The Lieutenant speaks takes the speaker away from his mouth, then looks to Captain Zygboyum,"Class 0 race. Probes have no function other than sending out encrypted signals. Looks like they're looking for friends." The Captain grabs the railing on the balcony and stares intensely at the planet. "Radio frequency, try to respond to them." The Lieutenant nods,"Aye Captain."

Weak signals emitting from a planet in Sector 10. Empty Re: Weak signals emitting from a planet in Sector 10.

An Amundi scientist frantically runs to his radio, from the telescope aimed at the large ship in the distance, and begins to send messages to the capitol city. "Darkut fod hughis!" He says over and over again.

In another laboratory, Amundi radio operators begin to listen to incoming messages, some bouncing up and down in their seats. After listening, they send more mathematical messages, co-ordinates for their capitol city, back to the strange beings through the radio signals.

Derkarsh, the leader of the Amundi Federation begins to prepare himself after hearing the radio message repeating "Darkut fod hughis!" Over and over. He himself is struggling to contain his excitement, and fear. He sends out a radio broadcast across the planet, on an open channel. "Fer hughis yim grein! Parlu ferf duis!" He then finds a group of ten or so militia on the streets and makes his way to the surface landing zones of the capitol city. Much too small for any kind of spacecraft, but large enough for dropships or helicopters. Him and the militia wait patiently, looking up at the sky eagerly.

A reply comes through a radio operator's voice,"Ti privettchi Zeleniy, davas gvodzno."

The Captain rubs her temples,"Great, decoding languages. Prepare a xenobiologist probe."

From the ZRS Batruka's hangar, a class Dadni dropship lumbers out and slowly descends into the atmosphere. It centers itself over the hotspot of radio interference, the Capital. The bomb bay doors open under it, and a probe is shoved out unceremoniously. The probe free falls for a few moments, as it approaches the ground it thrusts upwards, landing softly. It stands 4 feet tall, and from it's dark brown, circular body, 4 legs jut out from it. It flips itself over into it's proper positioning. It stands not too far from the Capital city, and begins scuttling along sort of like a crab as it scans all sorts of plant and wildlife, while being guiding to the sentient species.

"Successful landing, Kationniy."

Zygboyum nods, taking her sidecap off her hand and folding her hands behind her back. She paces up to the observation windows of the bridge. "Contact HQ."

Derkarsh is surprised when he sees the dropship drop something, and flinches a bit as it gets close to the ground. After it's started walking, Derkarsh points at it and says "Hir taz ghut fliu ezz." The group of militia nods, jogging towards the machine cautiously, weapons raised at it as the approach.

Derkarsh himself carries a weapon and watches the militia group approach the machine from the landing zones.

The probe would notice that most wildlife is small, and there is no vegetation, not even a spore in the air. The air would notably very quickly begin clogging up the probe and dirtying up the lenses as the dust and sand is blown into it very quickly. The air is brown and the probe can only see a hundred or so feet, with minimal clarity.

The little probe scuttles up to them, and sits there. It stares at them and focuses its lenses on them. Its many eyepieces at the center of its body stare at the group. The probe emits a synthesized Rhg'zezian mans voice,"Greetings from the Republic of Zeleniy." A part of its hull folds away, revealing a little screen. The screen shows a Rhg'zezian male's face, grey and hairless. A voice recording is playing in the man's voice,"Zyvdrastuye." The screen then shows a Rhg'zezian female's face, also a pale grey, with short hair. It plays the same audio clip in a female voice. An animation then plays. It shows a rough 2D sketching of an Amundi, and a Rhg'zezian. Between them stands the probe shown, and the Rhg'zezian speaks. Animated audio waves come from his mouth. They pass through the probe, and come out the other end to the Amundi. The two animated persons then have a nice little made-up discussion. The animation closes.

The Amundi militia jump up and down, one of them running back to Derkarsh, and bringing him to the probe. Then the militia group points at him, and makes a bowing gesture, trying to show that he's their leader.

Derkarsh, meanwhile, watches the probe curiously, listening to the militia group tell him what it showed them. He nods in approval, pointing to the landing zone. Then, the militia group picks up the probe, carrying it over their heads to the landing zone, where they set it down again, so it can get a look at the area.

All the structures at the landing zone are made of a metal that is common to the planet, and everything is beaten by sand. The militia and Derkarsh follow the probe around, speaking to eachother in excitement and wonder.

"Captain, a message probe has just hyperdrived in. Orders are to decode the language and stand by for possible diplomatic introductions."

The Captain nods to the crewmen,"Spasybibrat, Crewman. Dismissed."

The Captain turns away from the bridge and walks back to her quarters.

The probe on the planet stares at the Amundi speaking, its computing system clicking and churning as it processes the language.

The Amundi watch the probe quietly after a few minutes of realizing it stopped moving. One of them walks over and pushes it gently, watching it stabilize itself. They all look amongst eachother, beginning their own curious investigations.

They pace around the probe, touching different parts of it, but keeping their hands away from the moving parts. They try throwing sand at it, but it doesn't do anything noticeable. That's when they all decide to sit down around it, waiting for it to do something as they talk to eachother.

Two hyperspace windows pop open, a bluish hued window shoots out a heavily damaged merchant vessel and the other greenish window a sleek, organic looking vessel. The organic vessel tails the merchant ship easily as it barrels towards the planet. The organic vessel easily dodges the railgun fire that steams into space from the merchant ship, the organic vessel counters by taking pinpoint shots at the merchant ship with twin energy bolt cannons.

The two exchange fire for a good three and a half minutes before the organic vessel pulls up hard to avoid being yanked into atmosphere. The merchant ship fires all thrusters trying to remain afloat. The ship is too heavily damaged and a planetary impact is imminent.

The organic ship scans the area before making a 180 and making an FTL jump.

The Amundi watch the scene in awe, there attention completely torn from the probe that sits idly. Derkarsh looks at one of the militia and says "Fer! Diar awde!" The militia person then nods, quickly going into the city.

After several minutes a few tracked vehicles emerge from the entrance to the city, driving towards the ship entering their atmosphere quickly, but cautiously. They don't want to be too close to the impact area.

The ship enters atmosphere, the front becoming red hot and the engines letting out a loud whistle as they begin to die. The ship manages to pull up enough to almost level out, it smashes through a sand dune, then three more before the friction slows the ship to a grinding halt. The crash leaves a trail of metal and burning debris that begin to be swallowed up by the harsh environment.

No one leaves the ship, and no communication comes from it.

The Amundi tracked vehicles arrive to the crash, driving around the ship to find an entrance of some sort. Despite it being a relatively small ship, they are in awe by how large it appears to them.

They manage to find an airlock, using the radios in their trucks to contact eachother, and then the capitol city. "Hughis prafft dis kvash. Uis var iithum." They say, to which the capitol city sends a messenger out to Derkarsh.

After Derkarsh recieves the message, he goes back into the city, leaving the militia to watch the landing zones and the probe. He sends a radio message back to the militia in the tracked vehicles. "Giat utini der prafft, eef porrisbl."

The merchant ship slowly begins to echo a locator beacon, obviously an automatically triggered protocol. The ship's crew wasn't able to survive the crash, the loss of artificial gravity, explosive decompression due to weapons, and inability to maintain atmosphere are probable causation.

The crew is majorly human, a few alien species mixed in. The ship seems to be carrying spices, munitions, and canisters labelled "He-3."

The Amundi quickly note how hot the ship is, from entering the atmosphere so quickly, and use their radios to contact the capitol city. "Uas niud naetru!"

A few minutes later, larger tracked trucks with canisters on the back arrive. Several Amundi in odd sealed suits get out of the truck, and turn on the hoses, spraying down the airlock and the areas around the airlock, which quickly begin to cool on contact with the liquid substance. After they finish, the Amundi pack up their tracked truck and drive back to the city, leaving the militia.

The militia cautiously puts on some armor from the back of the tracked vehicles. They equip themselves with small gauss rifles and make their way to the airlock, which they attempt to pry open.

After several minutes of trying to pry open the door, they give up and go to the back of the truck, putting the crowbars back. They then wheel out a plasma torch in a protective casing. They erect a small tent around the airlock to prevent wind and sand from getting in and begin cutting into the airlock.

The plasma torch slowly eats its way into the metal. The door has to be taken apart square by square, the door being reinforced by multiple layers of strong alloys. Eventually a sizable door is cut away for the Amundi to get inside.

After the entrance is cut, the Amundi leave the tent set up and assign a few Amundi to stay outside the ship to make sure bandits and looters can't sneak up on them, and telling them to call more assistance.

The group puts away the plasma torch and goes through the doorway, into the ship. They begin examining their surroundings quickly, their gauss weapons poised and ready to fire at a moment's notice.

The group outside calls the capital city and begins requesting backup. To which the capital city replies by sending two fully equipped tanks, several more tracked trucks full of Amundi militia, and a helicopter equipped with machineguns. This ship is far too high a priority to lose to bandits or raiders.

The Amundi militia inside the ship begin to cautiously make their way through the ship. Taking long moments to analysis and admire the corpses of the strange new species, so large and unlike anything else on their planet. They take out cameras and begin to take pictures of all sorts of things inside the ship. They admire the tall and wide hallways and the chairs and utensils, which all seem ridiculously large to the Amundi.

Outside, the Amundi milita begin setting up a perimeter around the crashed ship, a small firefight breaking out between some raiders and the militia, but it only lasts a few moments before a tank stops the raider assault in it's tracks. The militia begin sending trucks back to their capital city, and begin picking up scientists and salvage crews to help the scientists, to bring to the crash site.

Derkarsh stays in the capital city, listening to the radios of the militia, scientists, and telescope operators, who are still trying to analyze the pictures they took of the ship crashing, and of the ship that was attacking the crashing ship.

Soon after the scientists arrive, tarps are thrown all around the ship to protect it from the elements. Archeologists begin collected the pieces of the ship that fell off, and search crews begin searching for things that might've been thrown from the ship.

Meanwhile, inside the ship, several militia teams are sent in to investigate it, and after it's confirmed to be safe, they take up security detail for the ship. Biologists come through, collecting the bodies and sending them to labs in the capital city. A few biologists are stunned by the discovery of a green object in a pot in moist dirt, and quarantine it and send it to a lab that can deal with potentially hazardous materials.

The mechanical parts of the ship are examined and analyzed by engineers and architects. The main thing being studied are the engine rooms and power source for the ship. They begin to make connections between the canisters marked with He-3, and the power source inside the ship.

Derkarsh is told of the technological wonders and astounding discoveries being made on the crashed ship, and orders a monument to be built to celebrate the day. It begins construction in the center of the capital city, where volunteers eagerly build it.

Derkarsh goes to investigate the ship, and listens to several leading scientists and engineers on the matter of the ship, and they all agree that they should dismantle it, down to it's core parts and see how it all works together.

The first thing to be taken out of the ship is the reactor and the He-3. Which is transported to a large underground testing facility. To study how it works and what can be done with it, as well as how to reproduce it.

The second thing is the engines and thrusters, which are taken to a facility above ground to begin testing and re-production.

Then, the electronics and basic systems are taken to another facility close to the capital city, where they are tested and analyzed to see how they work and they can be be reproduced.

The last things to go are the guns, and the other cargo in the ship. Which are taken to weapons labs and bio-labs.

What is left is the hollowed out shell of the ship, which is analyzed and studied by architects and engineers to see how and why this craft works in space, and to see if and how it can be improved for their purposes and species. Size, being the first issue.

Derkarsh immediately calls upon legions of volunteers to help with all the testing and studying that will need to be done. Thousands of Amundi begin working around the clock on all the research and testing. Derkarsh notes it as the most productive, and collaborative effort ever pulled together by the Amundi species.
